no place like home

i live in a church county we have atleast on of each church. i dont live in a big place its a really small town everyone knows each other. in my county we dont have a walmart we have a dollar store and piggley wiggley and osbornes. we have 4 traffic lights. a mcdonalds, sonic, hardes, subway, china star, and a chilangos. we also have some antique stores and flea market. so we dont have that much but we get by with what we have. on fridays most of the county goes and watches the football games if they are at home. we have one high school and four elementry schools. the graduating class at an elementry school where i live is anywhere between 10 to 40 people. and at the high school its around 160 to about 210.

ad

observation- girl studying, in library, sitting in a purple chair, has a backpack looks like it contains more books.

inferences- she is reading which means she wants to study. in a chair meaning she wants to be comforatable while studying. backpack which could mean that she could be coming from a class or is just studying before another class. in the library so she wants to be in a quite place so she can focus.

seeing her studying in the library might appeal to other students, making them believe it might be more effective to study in a quiet library, instead of a dorm room where you can be easily distracted with other things. this is demonstrating the rhetorical appeal of logos by making students think that studying in a library is more benefittial than studying in a loud enviroment.

Drugs

Video 1

i think that the audience this video is aiming toward would be teens. the tone is calm relaxed but still trying to get the message out there. the context, there is just some one talking and you see a pan frying an egg. they share the same purpose of telling you that drugs are bad and can hurt you. this video would not be so effective because it just talks about the drugs hurting you.

Video 2

in this video the audience is still teens. the tone has changed and became aggressive: from some one just talking, to actually seeing some one bash things with the pan. context you have visual evidence and a teen star talking to you. the purpose is the same to talk to you about drugs. i think this one was more effective because we have this young women talking to us telling us who we are hurting when we do it like your family.

Closing Ceremony

Observation: Military man, in uniform, infront of stadium, background has fireworks going off, looks like the picture was taken from a upward angle, the main focus point is the guard

Inferences:
China is showing that they are a force. Because they could just put regular cops out there but instead they put well dressed military men. This image makes me feel like china is trying to stay safe. What confused me is why is there only one guard in the picture not a hole squad.

I know that this all was televised globally, does that mean china is trying to tell the United States something? I know the olympics was a big thing, but was china trying to show that they have everything we have and more? To me I think that they are saying that we can protect ourselves.
